Tracking, supporting and anticipating the development of technological innovations
Dialogue with industry players, events gathering the Paris financial centre such as the annual ACPR-AMF Fintech Forum Day, working groups and experiments. The wide-ranging interactions of the Fintech-Innovation Unit with the innovation ecosystem are driven by the need to stay abreast of the development of use cases stemming from new technology.
Hence, the Unit’s work in this area has been structured around two key technologies, artificial intelligence and blockchain, leading to the publication of several discussion papers.
For the most part, these interactions take place at national level, through the ACPR-AMF Fintech Forum’s thematic working groups. These groups make it possible to develop ad hoc proposals with a view to supporting the integration of new fintech models in financial regulations, the conduct of experiments and the organisation of Tech Sprints (regulatory hackathons).
This dialogue is also informed by forward-looking discussions held with academia, including Télécom Paris, through the Chair on explainable Artificial Intelligence for AML/CTF (XAI-4-AML) and the joint organisation of periodic “Les lundis de l’IA et de la finance” webinars (AI and Finance Mondays), or the Institut Louis Bachelier through our involvement in the FaIR (Finance and Insurance Reloaded) programme.
At supranational level, the ACPR is also involved in working groups set up by the various European (EBA, EIOPA, European Forum for Innovation Facilitators) and international bodies (such as the International Association of Insurance Supervisors – IAIS, as well as the Bank for International Settlements – BIS) to monitor technological developments in the financial sector.
