This report is an opportunity to present all the Authority's general interest tasks:

  • prudential supervision;

  • customer protection;

  • anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF);

  • crisis prevention and resolution arrangements in the event of an institution's failure;

  • participation in financial stability.

In 2023, French banks and insurers proved resilient in the face of episodes of banking crises and various macroeconomic and geopolitical shocks.

For 2024, the ACPR, through its work program, is aiming to maintain this soundness through enhanced vigilance over all risks to the financial system.

This work program is based on four main areas defined and adopted by the Supervisory College:

  • maintaining and strengthening the safety and soundness of the banking and insurance sectors in the face of macroeconomic, financial and geopolitical risks

  • address structural vulnerabilities and be proactive in identifying, preventing and supervising new and developing risks

  • monitor the compliance and effectiveness of companies' AML/CTF systems and business practices and identify any deficiencies and associated risks

  • continue modernizing the Authority to increase its efficiency and contribute to the Banque de France's strategic plan.
