International Affairs Directorate

The International Affairs Directorate is in charge of cross-functional issues on both sectors regarding accounting and prudential regulations. It ensures the representation of the General Secretariat in domestic, European and international bodies dealing with accounting and prudential matters.

 

It is composed of four divisions:

Banking International Division

The Banking International Division represents the Authority during working groups of the Basel Committee, the European Banking Authority and the European Commission. It takes part in all working groups on prudential issues and acts as an expertise pole on evolution and implementation of banking regulation.

 

 

 

Insurance International Division

The Insurance International Division represents the Authority during European and international working groups, the EIOPA and the European Commission. It takes part in all working groups on prudential issues and acts as an expertise pole on evolution and implementation of insurance regulation.

Accounting Affairs Division

The Accounting Affairs Division deals with accounting issues, specific or general, raised by the application of regulation and the evolution of banking and insurance techniques. It represents the Authority within consultative forum, domestic or international, specialized on these fields. It ensures the project management for accounting data as part of SURFI.

SSM Secretariat and Coordination Division

The SSM Secretariat and Coordination Division prepares keynotes for the Supervisory Board, the Governing Council and the mediation panel. It follows up all written procedures regarding these bodies and directly handles some of them. It analyses implications of draft decisions or other matters submitted to these bodies as regards prudential regulation.
